The sin of Sodom

I read this "Thought for the Week" in today's Weekly Edrah (which is a neat website) and thought it was interesting in view of our Wednesday night study of Gen. 14.

There are four types of people. The one who says, "What's mine is mine and what's yours is yours." This is the normal type of person, but some say this is the type of person who lived in Sodom. The one who says, "What's mine is yours and what's yours is mine." This type of person is an ignoramus. The one who says, "What's mine is yours and what's yours is yours." This is a righteous person. The one who says, "What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine." This is a wicked person. (m.Avot 5:10)

Wednesday August 4th

With Pastor Steve and Audrey out of town, Tim led our study group in an hour long prayer time. The prayer points included:
  • binding the Cherdolomar & Bela spirits and other spirits attacking our church, the Mosaic campus, and other Mosaic churches; we also prayed to bind the spirits of religion and confusion
  • thankfulness for the answer to our prayers last Wed. when we prayed to bind those spirits in the name of JESUS
  • unity (binding together in LOVE) & integrity in the Body of Christ and purification of the Bride; staying the course in obedience to Him as He was in going to the cross
  • increase of our love for the downcast and brokenhearted; discernment to see & pray for the needs of the broken in our congregation and visitors
  • Finances, Outreach, New members
  • Workers for bringing in the Harvest
  • Renewing of our minds to be more like Jesus
  • Boldly praying in the Power of the Name of JESUS
  • Grace and Blessing for the Mosaic Yard Sale Event on Aug. 28th
While we were praying, David+, a missionary on retreat from Madacascar, prophesized that River's Cross would become a church of integrity, humble and repentant before God, walking in the light of Christ, and spreading that light to the world.

It was a blessed time ..... continue to lift up and pray for these points throughout the week.

Welcome!

Every Wednesday night at 6:30 PM, we meet for group Bible study in the Livingstone Building on the Mosaic Campus. The study topics have ranged from healing to prophesy to spiritual warfare and more! It would be neat to have time to reflect on these studies during the week and this is the place to do so. Let's be innovative and try it out!
